What's going on right now?

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

Seeking financial support for the children to attend school and got other basic necessities, including medical care
Entertainment which involves teaching/training songs, dance and dram that carry educative and sensitization message about HIV/AIDS and conservation.
Training in hygiene and sanitation.
Holiday sensitization sessions with the orphan’s widows/widowers about how to live and behave socially in any given community.
Training in agriculture and other income generating activities e.g. hand crafts making and preparation of simple vegetable gardens.
Sensitizing children about HIV/AIDS / sexually transmitted diseases.
Construction of children’s homes home for performance/entertainment and exhibitions. (Swimming sites).
Construction of nursery, vocational school and clinic.
Children entertaining visitors especially tourists who come to lake Bunyonyi.
Children selling their handcrafts to visitors through exhibitions after every performance.
Giving special care to the girls children among the orphans and vulnerable through straight talk programs, about early pregnancies, infections and abstainence.

Goals

SHORT TERM GOALS:
a) We will try to provide care for orphans, widows, elderly and the need until the end of their lives, a period of suffering in the knowledge of an imminent death.
b) We will provide an atmosphere of love, of parental fellowship through talking to orphans and caregivers about the kingdom of God and eternal life for which they must prepare themselves before leaving this life, with love, help and teaching from the word of God, patients will have faith to die gloriously. We will pray continually for them.
c) We will take care for widows/widowers, from their families.
d) We will fight the spirit of neglect, which affects AIDS victims by taking responsibility for their dependants.
e) We hope to limit the number of patients taking up beds in the hospital by providing care in homes.
f) We will train home care counselors to talk to AIDS patients and those who look after them.

LONG TERM GOALS:
Through our work panic and fear amongst orphans and widows/widowers will be slowly removed. The population in general will learn that being an orphan, widow/widower it’s not the end of your life and must not be marginalized.
Gradually, the wish to commit suicide will disappear. We will each child who have not contracted HIV about prevention of AIDS and provide all the care necessary to keep them alive and prolong the life- expectancy of their families.

Uganda...

UGANDA is amongst the 25th countries that are poor in the world. 65% of the population is illiterate without viable income and the infant mortality is very high, due to lack of primary health care, malnutrition and poverty in general.

UGANDA is also one of the countries most severely affected by AIDS and malaria with hundreds of dying every day leaving orphans, widows, widowers whose number grow daily. The letter make up marginalize society abandoned and left to themselves as a result of lack of understanding by fellows/ neighbors. AIDS victims are not able to work but still need help to able to buy food, medicine and clothes, to pay for accommodation etc.
Children suffer terribly since there are begging and stealing foods, some drop out of the schools because of lack of school fees, shelter and scholastic materials.
